WEEK 16 MARKET DAY

ENTERTAINMENT - We are so excited about the Hespeler BIA’s #walkqueen show this week! Its a full line up so come down starting at 3pm and get ready to MOVE!

KIDS ENTERTAINMENT (3:00pm - 7:00pm in Kids Zone) The kids have returned back to school, and our thoughts are turning towards fall. So, this is a perfect craft for the kids to do this Friday in the Kid’s Zone! Leanne from Crafty Creatures will be there to guide the kids through this cute craft. Plus, there will be small DIY painting creature kits for sale! Yay, so much fun!

COMMUNITY GROUP - This week at the community booth, you will be able to learn about Domestic Violence Victim's Alliance and the services the organization provides. Founder Amanda has this to say “We collect gently used items from the community and sell them ‘by donation/pay what you like’ to members of the community and 100% of sales/donations go directly to help local victims of violence with medical, mental health and legal fees. We also directly donate some of the items we get to local survivors in need.” Drop by this Friday between 3-7 pm.

WEEK 15 MARKET DAY

ENTERTAINMENT - We are so excited about the Hespeler BIA’s #walkqueen show starting at 5:30pm on the balcony on Queen Street. The show stars Live music with The Decades Band! Two sets - @5:30pm and @8:30pm

KIDS ENTERTAINMENT (3:00pm - 7:00pm in Kids Zone) Did you know that worms are as important to the food growing process as bees are? Let your kids learn about the importance of worms for our food with Amanda of Worm Wrangler this Friday from 3-7 pm in the Kid’s Zone. Maybe they’ll even get to pet a worm! See you there.

COMMUNITY GROUP - We are buzzing with excitement that rare Charitable Research Reserve will be at the community booth this Friday! They have a lot to tell you about including their trail party on September 25, volunteer workdays at Springbank Food Bank gardens, and the annual TD tree planting. So come on over and talk all things rare!

WEEK 14 MARKET DAY

ENTERTAINMENT - We are so excited about the Hespeler BIA’s #walkqueen show starting at 7pm on the balcony on Queen Street. The show stars Tragically Hip cover band Almost Hip! Come and shop at the Hespeler Village Market before 7pm, and then stay and enjoy the show.

KIDS ENTERTAINMENT (3:30pm - 5:30pm in Market Spot 16) Come #walkqueen this Friday September 2nd because the Relative Minors will be playing two musical sets for the kids: 3:30-4:15 and 4:45-5:30.

COMMUNITY GROUP - Staffing the community booth this week is Garden Hespeler, also known as Hespeler Horticultural Society. Be sure to stop by and find out how you can become a member or even ask a gardening question or two.

WEEK 13 MARKET DAY

ENTERTAINMENT - City of Cambridge (4-5pm on Queen St) will host a free Barr Fitness class AND your favourite dance class is back!!! Line Dancing with Kynamics (5:30 -6:30 on Queen St)

KIDS ENTERTAINMENT (3pm - 5pm in Kids Zone) This week the kids will be doing dot art. Led by Idea Exchange—Hespeler, the kids will make watermelon slices with construction paper, and then they’ll use black paint and Q-tips to add their seeds. What a sweet treat!

The City of Cambridge (5-7pm in Kids Zone) will also be onsite to host a free kids ballet/jazz and youth yoga class!

COMMUNITY GROUP - Did you know that registration for the City of Cambridge’s fall programs began on August 24? Not only can you discuss program options for ages 50+ at the community booth, staffed by The Ted Wake Centre, but also City of Cambridge staff will be giving us a taste of their programs for adults, youth, and kids!
On the schedule:
4:00 and 4:30: Barre Fitness for adults—20 minute classes (on Queen Street)
5:00, 5:30, 6:00—15 minute ballet or jazz for kids (in Kid’s Zone)
6:30—30 minute yoga for youth (in Kid’s Zone)
All programs are drop in, and equipment is provided.

WEEK 12 MARKET DAY

ENTERTAINMENT - Atlas Yoga - class and painting (Queen St)

KIDS ENTERTAINMENT (3pm - 5pm in Kids Zone) Idea Exchange is BACK from 3-5pm helping your little ones make a sweet treat in the kid’s zone. They’ll be sponge painting ice cream cones with different shaped sponges and adding sparkly “sprinkles”. What an awesome way to beat the heat!

COMMUNITY GROUP - We are honoured to have organizers of the Cambridge Terry Fox Run, a fundraiser for cancer research, staffing the community booth this Friday at the Hespeler Village Market. This year’s t-shirt will be available for purchase. Donations are welcome. Make sure to stop by to talk with members of this organization about this very important cause.

ENTERTAINMENT - Cambridge Symphony Orchestra Trio (4:30-6:30pm on Queen St)

We are very thankful for their generous sponsorship this year of such amazing acts as The Bubbleology Show. Stay tuned, as they will be sponsoring a couple of other awesome acts. ENTERTAINMENT - Cambridge Kiwanis Choir (3:30pm in Market Area) Did you know that the Cambridge Kiwanis Choir is an inclusive choir which welcomes all singers and provides a safe space for youth and young adults to learn musical skills, make friends, and learn traditional/updated music selections? They will be performing at this Friday’s market starting at 3:30. Find them on the steps of the Hespeler Heritage Centre. Donations are welcome.

ENTERTAINMENT (5:00pm-7:00 pm on Queen St) -Paul Mitchell New Orleans style Jazz Quartet

COMMUNITY GROUP - There will be a big buzz over at the community table this week as the Hespeler Minor Hockey Association will be there! Come talk to their directors about affordable hockey opportunities in Little League and “Timbits” hockey. Take home a registration sign. Learn all about their Shamrock apparel that’s open to all for sale at Source for Sports. But wait, it gets better! Their OMHA 2022 U10 Champs will be on site to practice some hockey with kids ages 4-11 on Queen Street. What a buzz of activity it will be!

WEEK 9 MARKET DAY

ENTERTAINMENT (5:30pm-6:30 pm on Queen St) -Kynamics Dance and Fitness is back hosting a free line dancing lesson. If you missed it last Saturday evening then you will want to come check it out this week. So FUN!

KIDS ENTERTAINMENT (3pm - 7pm in Kids Zone) Idea Exchange is BACK from 3-5pm. This week the kids will be creating memory sticks in the KID’s ZONE from 3-5 pm with the help of the fantastic staff from the Hespeler Idea Exchange. We can’t wait to see what their favourite memories are! Not only that, but they can play games like bean bag toss on Queen Street. Cool!

COMMUNITY GROUP - Did you know that Cambridge Minor Softball and Hespeler Minor Softball joined forces this year to create more opportunities for kids aged 3-17 to play softball in Cambridge? The organization welcomes all players at any level of play—first time player, experienced and even advanced.

Come on over to the community booth at this Friday’s market, and talk to them about their organization, and about registration opportunities for their 2023 season, which will be open in the fall.

KIDS ENTERTAINMENT (3pm - 7pm in Kids Zone) Oh my! There will be quite the buzz in the Kid’s Zone this week! Check out the craft that the Silverheights Neighbourhood Association will have for the kids. The Hespeler Village Neighbourhood Association will be joining the SHNA in the Kid’s Zone (3-7pm), and they will also be providing sensory bags, bubbles, and games. Add in Idea Exchange with some pot painting and flower planting (from 3-5pm) and WOW! There will be a garden of activities going on!

JULY 1 - CANADA DAY MARKET

ENTERTAINMENT (5:00pm-7:00 pm on Balcony of 39 Queen St)- Live Music with local musician Chandler McQuade with Kat

KIDS ENTERTAINMENT (3pm - 7pm in Kids Zone) - We are wiggling with happiness that Worm Wranglers will be in the Kid’s Zone this week! There will be demonstrations and hands-on exploration of topics such as vermicomposting, soil ecology, and sustainability. COMMUNITY GROUP - Located down the street from the market in the old post office is the non-profit Fashion History Museum. We’re thrilled that they will be making their way down the street to staff the community booth at this week’s market. Come learn all about the Fashion History Museum, and its related store—Encore Vintage—which is across the street. There will even be gifts of handheld Canadian flags.
